Google Antigravity release notes: 2.24.0 adds /compact and model choice

Google Antigravity 2.24.0 adds /compact for long conversations and lets you choose a model for an automation. The update applies to the standalone Antigravity app, Google's workspace for AI agents, and is dated October 15, 2026. It rolls out gradually and may take a few days to reach all users.

Google Antigravity release notes: /compact and model selection

/compact summarizes the conversation so far and frees up room for the agent to keep working.

Human step: Type /compact in the long conversation. Once compaction finishes, you can continue with the next task.

For automated tasks, you can now select Flash Lite, Flash, or Pro when creating or editing an automation. New automations still start on Flash. This selects the model for the automation, so you can choose an alternative to the default.

Human step: Select the model when creating or editing the automation.

Short example: use the new Antigravity feature

After /compact, you can check what the agent retains about the work before it continues. This is a suggested prompt, not a Google command:

Use the summarized conversation. Which decisions have been made, and which task comes next? Flag anything missing from the summary. Propose the next step without changing files.

Check that the response:

  • Matches the decisions you have already made.
  • Distinguishes missing information from confirmed decisions.
  • Proposes the next step without changing files.
